UPSC has over the years remained one of the most prestigious and trying-to-attain jobs in India, because of which the Preliminary Examination of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is the first step in one of India’s most prestigious and challenging recruitment processes for civil services like the IAS, IPS, IFS, and others. Its tight regime provokes the candidates to test their psychological thinking, analytic ability, and decision-making skills.
The prelims consist of two papers conducted on the same day:
General Studies Paper-I
General Studies Paper-II (CSAT – Civil Services Aptitude Test)
The UPSC Prelims is not just an exam but a test of persistence, discipline, and determination. Clearing it opens the gateway to the Mains Examination, a more descriptive and subjective phase of the journey toward becoming a civil servant.
Success in the prelims requires a combination of hard work, smart strategy, and resilience. Every candidate’s preparation strategy is unique, but dedication and consistent effort are universal keys to success.
